Lagos Ferry Map

Our goal

We want to educate Lagos commuters about water transit alternatives, enabling faster, more enjoyable commutes. That's why we deployed a data collection team to gather detailed information about the routes, schedules, and fares, creating the first-ever comprehensive map.

Limitations

Private, informal transit operations are always subject to change. This information was collected in February 2025. To stay up-to-date, we have included a user feedback feature where users can submit updates to the data.

This map presents the full spectrum of ferry facilities and routes, including some that are quite undeveloped and a better fit for commuters who are more adventurous and don't mind getting shoes muddy.

Ferry Facility Quality

Developed
These facilities are properly engineered and structurally sound. Some of them have terminal buildings where you can buy tickets and wait indoors.
Less Developed
These are facilities that lack developed structures like formal docks or seawalls. Many of them are landings where the boats pull up on a sand bank.

Ferry Routes

Fixed Routes
These are recurring public transport routes where you can show up and buy an individual ticket.
Charter Suggestions
Private charters require paying for the entire boat, and they can go to any destination. The suggestions shown with dotted lines demonstrate how charters can be used to navigate between locations that otherwise lack ferry connectivity.
